Recruitment Definition By Authors: Recruitment is a process of accumulation of human resources for the vacant positions of the organization. it is an initial step of the system. This process includes requisition of manpower and at last submission of the application by the job seeker. It is done with a view not-only to fill-up the present position rather an accumulation of manpower having the required skills and efficiencies for performing the activities of the organization. After receiving the letter of application. this process ends. This process continues up to the last date mentioned in the advertisement for the submission of the employment application.

What do you mean by Recruitment? Many authors have defined recruitment as follows –
“Recruitment is the process of discovering the potential for actual or anticipated organizational vacancies.
“Recruitment is the process of searching for prospective employees and stimulating them to apply for jobs in, the organization”.
“Recruitment is a discovering of potential applicants for actual or anticipated organizational vacancies. Or from another perspective, it can be looked at the linking activity bringing together those with jobs and those seeking jobs”.
“ Recruitment is a process to discover the sources of manpower to meet the requirements of the staffing schedule and to employ effective measures for attracting that manpower in adequate numbers to facilitate effective selection of an efficient working force.”
Through highlighted definitions, it is possible to identify that recruitment is the process of identifying and attracting the qualified people to fill vacant positions in an organization.
